The Department of Anthropology of ECU and the State Medical Examiners Office out of Greenville identified the remains as those of Jose Palemon Lopez, a 32-year-old Hispanic male.
Lopez was reported missing to the Wilson County Sheriff's Office on June 2, 2006. The Medical Examiner listed the cause of death as undetermined.
Sheriff Gay is asking anyone who may of seen Lopez between May 19, 2006 and June 2, 2006 at or near the Handy Mart in Saratoga to call Lt. Bailey at the Sheriff's Office 252-237-2118.
