Rocks thrown at cars in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE

Police say the stretch of Country Club Drive near Rose Hill Road was littered with pieces of cinderblock. One piece smashed through the windshield of Lakeshia McKoy's van just missing her young niece in the front seat.

"We was driving we heard a big "POW" but I didn't realize it till I looked over there," McKoy explained. "I thought it was a gunshot or something, but kinda figured somebody thru something thru my window at my windshield."

McKoy says her niece and other children in the car weren't hurt, but were shaken up. A passing ambulance was also hit. Eyewitnesses told police they saw two boys throwing the rocks then run into a nearby neighborhood.
