A cut phone line caused a loss of telephone service in the Town of Coats and surrounding area. The outage includes cell phone service.
The area affected is between Angier, Benson, Erwin and Buies Creek.
Embarq, the phone service proved, says the service will be down for a minimum of two to three hours.
The Harnett County Sheriff's Office will have extra deputies patrolling the effected area. Citizens with emergencies will need to travel to the closest fire station or Coats Town Hall for assistance.
