/*Buffaloe Road*/ was also shut down while authorities cleared and investigated the scene.
"I heard somebody say, 'I'm sorry,'and then I heard somebody scream for help," eyewitness Amber Webb said.
People who live near the intersection of Buffaloe Road say they've seen their share of wrecks but nothing as tragic as what they saw Tuesday night.
The driver of a grey Honda Accord was killed and four others were seriously injured, including two children.
Onlookers stood by in shock.
Webb was on her back deck watching the when it happened.
"That silver Honda came up behind the suburban sitting right here," she said. "Whoever passed, when they passed him, they hit straight on."
Fire officials say some of the people involved had to be extracted from the wreck. And while the /*Highway Patrol*/ is investigating the exact cause, nearby residents hope never to see anything like it again.
But they are doubtful.
"People pass me like that all the time," Webb said. "It's just a matter of time before something like this happens."
Officials say they would like drivers to slow down on Buffaloe Rd. There is no word on whether that was a factor in the /*crash*/.
