23-year-old Mark Irwin was accused of shooting two men last January.
One of the victims, Chris Barber, spoke to Eyewitness News.
His half-brother was also seriously wounded, but during the trial Irwin claimed he fired a shotgun in self defense. The jury believed him.
Wednesday afternoon, the jury acquitted Irwin of two charges of assault with a deadly weapon.
However, they were deadlocked on two other charges and the judge declared a mistrial. Prosecutors will not say if they will retry Irwin on those two other charges.
