Raleigh to consider raising water rates

Now that more people are using less water the city's selling about 20 percent less water now compared to this time last year.

Water revenues normally help to cover costs for water system operations, so something needs to be done to make up the difference.

The city council will likely discuss water rates at its June budget meeting.
