17-year old Cedric Darnell Williams is charged with second degree murder in the shooting death of 24-year-old Ian Justin Smith.
Investigators say Smith was shot multiple times as he was leaving Williams' home shortly before 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Investigators say the pair began to argue and Williams allegedly fired his weapon at Smith as exited the home.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the crime scene and Smith was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Williams is being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a 100 thousand dollar secured bond.
Smith's body will be sent to the State Medical Examiner's Office for autopsy.
