Police seek murder suspect

RALEIGH

Raleigh police say they found 21-year-old Corinnie Broadway, shot to death inside her Raleigh apartment Saturday night.

Police are searching for 22-year-old Khaleel Oyeneyin, the man believed to be Broadway's boyfriend.

And her friends say, they not only lost a friend, but an unborn child.

Vicky Brown says her friend was in an abusive relationship.

"They were always into it, as in arguing, and we kept telling her, leave him alone. Leave him alone, he's abusive, leave him alone, and she kept saying, I'm going to leave him alone. I promise," Brown said.

Lakeisha Jones is going door-to-door to collect money for the friend she saw hours before she died.

"Outgoing girl, very intelligent, she worked all day. She took care of herself. She was a very dependable person," Jones said.

All are remembering Broadway with flowers and pictures outside the murder scene.

They say the Shaw University student never got to share the news with her mother, that she was two months pregnant.

Police believe Oyeneyin may be driving a white 1995 Lexus GS 300 bearing N.C. license tag XNM-5900.

The case is being investigated by the department's Major Crimes Task Force.

Anyone with information that might assist in the location of Oyeneyin is asked to call the Raleigh Police Department at (919) 890-3555 or CrimeStoppers at (919) 226-CRIME.
