Officials say 59-year-old Charles Zeira was landing his Ultralight on a private landing strip when the wing got caught and flipped the plane over.
It happened Saturday morning on Tart Town Road off /*Highway 96*/ in Johnston County.
Zeira was stable on his way to /*Wake Med*/, but died an hour after he arrived.
/*Johnston County*/ Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Tammy Amaon says he suffered injuries to his leg and pelvis.
Authorities say a cause of death for Zeigra has not been determined.
