Kroger stores in North Carolina are on notice about some tainted beef.

Customers in North Carolina should check to see whether they've bought meat wrapped in clear cellophane in Styrofoam tray packages.

It has a sell by date from May 19 to June 6.

The store is also recalling its Private Selection ground beef that was sold in 16-ounce packages in the self-service meat cases. The packages in question have sell by dates from July 11 to July 21.

A total of 532,000 pounds of beef is being recalled.

Customers with any of the recalled products can return them to a Kroger store for a full refund, the company said in a news release.
