It happened in the 5200 block of North Roxboro Road near Omega Road.
Police say the vehicle driven by Teodoro Gomez of Durham crossed the center line around 12:49 a.m. He collided with a vehicle driven by Joseph Lester, Jr. of Roxboro.
Clare Lester, who was a passenger in Joseph Lester's car, died.
Joseph was hospitalized for non life threatening injuries and Gomez is in critical condition at Duke University.
No charges have been filed, but the wreck remains under investigation.
