Officials issue rabies alert

WAKE COUNTY Wednesday, the county confirmed it found a rabid raccoon near Highway 55 and Jenks Road in Cary.

Officials are asking people to be careful and keep a lookout.

They also don't want anyone to approach wild animals, especially during the day.

County pets should be vaccinated and not left outside unattended.
