Police say Miles shot Steven Hines in the head with an assault rifle.
The shooting happened on Monday morning outside miles house on Shady Pine Drive in Hope Mills.
Hines is recovering at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
Three charged in connection with shooting
HOPE MILLS Police arrested 18-year-old Jason Miles, 20-year-old Anthony Carson and 17-year-old Shakera Baxter.
