Local man charged in sex crime

CUMBERLAND COUNTY Kevin Naughton, 56, of Odom Road in Hope Mills was arrested Thursday. He faces two counts of taking indecent liberties with a child and two counts of sexual battery.

The victim alleges Naughton kissed and touched her inappropriately. The violations are believed to have occurred between April 1 and Aug. 1.

Naughton is being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $25,000 secured bond.
