Kevin Key, 26, was charged with murder earlier this week. He admitted to Lee County detectives that he was present when 11-year-old Bradley Way was killed on July 12, 2004.
Key said he broke into the way family's home during a robbery but claims Victor Gamble killed the boy.
Gamble, who pleaded guilty to the murder in 2006 and is serving a life sentence, claimed Key killed the boy.
Key is being held without bond.
