Four injured in bowling alley shooting

FAYETTEVILLE On Tuesday shortly after 11 p.m., Fayetteville Police reponded to a shooting call at B & B Lanes on Fort Bragg Road.

Upon arrival, officers located four people who had been injured as a result of a firearm discharge.

According to police, 25-year-old David Michael Thomas entered the business carrying a concealed handgun.

Once inside, Thomas made contact with a few acquaintances and attempted to clear and/or unload the firearm --in doing so, the firearm discharged into Thomas's left hand.

The projectile went through his hand and grazed the right upper arm of 25-year-old Rae Ann Cox. Fragments from the projectile struck the lower back of 45-year-old Robert Kusmierek.

Another fragment from the same projectile struck and lodged into the right thigh of 27-year-old Micheal Dodson.

All injuries sustained were non-life threatening.

All four injured were treated by Emergency medical personnel at the scene as well as Cape Far Valley Medical Center.

Thomas was subsequently charged with three counts of assault with a deadly weapon and carrying a concealed weapon.

The case is being investigated as an accidental shooting.
