Suspicious letter stopped at post office

RALEIGH Easley now among 36 governors across the county that have been mailed letters that contained a suspicious powder.

The FBI said field tests have indicated the powders to be harmless. Further testing is underway.

The letters are all postmarked from Texas. They began arriving at governors' offices across the country on Monday.

The FBI says sending hoax letters is a felony that can mean up to five years in prison.
