Fayetteville woman found safe in S.C.

FAYETTEVILLE A Columbia police officer picked the Fayetteville woman up in the downtown on Nov. 8 after observing her wandering around the Henderson Street area. Upon questioning the 63-year-old, the officer transported Blue to a local hospital for medical evaluation.

After it was determined she was in good health, the hospital released Blue into the custody of Richland County Social Services.

Blue is currently at a facility in Columbia where she was assigned to a social worker. The social worker determined Blue's identity and contacted Fayetteville authorities on Dec. 17.

Detectives are in the process of coordinating with the Cumberland County Department of Social Services to determine living arrangements for Blue when she returns to Fayetteville.
