North Carolina State women's basketball coach Kay Yow is out for a third straight game because of health issues. The 66-year-old coach is battling a recurrence of the breast cancer she first was diagnosed with in 1987.

The Hall of Fame coach had hoped to be on the bench for the Georgetown game, but team spokesman Mark Kimmel said she decided about four hours before tipoff that she would be unable to coach.

Yow stayed back at the hotel for last week's game at Columbia because cold temperatures in New York worsened her normally tolerable symptoms. Then she sat out Sunday's home victory over Jacksonville State because of a low energy level.

Sharnise Beal scored 23 points, Shayla Fields added 13 and the Wolfpack blew a 13-point second-half lead before rallying, hitting 5-of-6 free throws in the final minute to clinch their third straight win without their ailing coach.
