State workers want their money

RALEIGH North Carolina's new payroll system debuted earlier this year, but came with some problems.

In August, Gov. Mike Easley ordered all employees be paid what they are owed. However, according to a local newspaper report Friday, some employees still believe they are not getting their proper pay.

A recent state department newsletter thanked employees for their patience while complex issues are being resolved.

A social worker at a state mental hospital said she received $800 less than expected in her December paycheck.
