Hagan, Kissell start work at Capitol

Two new faces at the U.S. Capitol began representing North Carolina Tuesday.Senator-elect Kay Hagan and Rep.-elect Larry Kissell were sworn in Tuesday afternoon.

Hagan and Kissell defeated Republican incumbents in November. That added to the Democratic majority in both chambers.

North Carolina now has nine Democrats and six Republicans in Washington.

Hagan and Kissell say they both plan to immediately begin working on ways to shore up the economy.
