Seard's family said he died in Owings, Md. Saturday. He was a junior offensive lineman and engineering student.
The university said counselors were on campus over the weekend as students arrived for the start of classes.

CHARLOTTE, NC According to a Charlotte newspaper, 20-year-old Stephen Seard died from complications of a seizure he suffered while visiting his family during the holidays.
