Police arrest Spain murder suspect

NEWTON, NC U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force agents arrested 28-year-old Jameel Thornton Friday in Newton, NC.

He is charged with killing 41-year-old Trevor Spain on Dec. 26.

According to authorities, Thornton was on probation at the time of the murder.

They also say Spain and Thornton were acquaintances but a motive has not been determined.
