M.J. Soffe cuts Fayetteville jobs

FAYETTEVILLE The decision means 107 people at the Cumberland County plant will lose their jobs.

The operation that turns yarn into finished fabric will stop running in June.

Georgia-based Delta Apparel Inc. purchased M.J. Soffe in 2003.

A Delta representative said the closure will not affect some 550 other jobs at the Soffe plant on U.S. 301. Those workers do other jobs like sewing and sales.
