UNC Charlotte officials say a track and field athlete died during a basketball game Monday night.Sophomore Steven Archer suffered cardiac arrest, according to local published reports. No other details were provided. It is not clear if he was participating in the game or if he was a spectator.
The university said Archer competed in the long jump and was ninth on the school's top 10 list.
Memorial and funeral plans have not been announced.
