You can find new and gently used building materials that add value to your home. While shopping you not only help a good cause, but keep money in your pocket.
Habitat for Humanity of Wake County has a warehouse filled with gently used materials. It's call the ReStore.
Restore is filled with everything for your home.
Chandeliers and lighting starting at just $10. Flooring and sinks are as cheap as $5, while front doors and bathtubs start at $25.
John Stees with ReStore says, "We offer tubs and shower stalls, facets and handles, just an easy way to get a nice return on a project."
Any type of project you're doing on your home, you'll find the goods at ReStore.
ReStore sells donated building materials at a fraction of the cost compared to what you'll find at the big box hardware stores.
Stees adds, "I've got new and used materials so we're already half of retail on new stuff and used stuff and we got a 30-day markdown. So my prices are continually falling. Not going to find a better deal."
The are great deals on granite counter tops, windows and cabinets.
Stees adds, "A lot of times I get brand new things. A lot of times it's a goof. It gets donated to us instead of thrown out."
ReStore helps the environment because the items in its warehouse aren't sitting in the landfill.
It could be the new look you've been wishing for and now can afford. Stees says, "My stock changes daily. I get donations in the back from individuals who are remodeling and builders who are working on houses. If you're looking for that specific thing and you've got time it will roll through these doors sooner or later."
And while you are getting a great deal, you're also helping out a great cause.
All of the ReStore's proceeds support the building of new Habitat for Humanity Homes in the community.
If you're looking to donate, you can get a tax deduction.
ReStore is located at 2420 Raleigh Blvd., Raleigh, NC 27604.
It's open to the public 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and 9 a.m. - 5 p.m Saturday.
ReStore is also always looking for volunteers.
