Investigators say they believe 39-year-old Jose Trinidad was hit by a vehicle, but they will not know for sure until a medical examiner confirms the cause of death.
Trinidad's body was found 11:30 p.m. Wednesday at Seventh Street near Goldsboro Ave.
A motorists saw the body and called police. Investigators say it appeared as if Trinidad had been hit recently.
He pronounced dead at the scene.
