Students arrested at school for drugs, weapons

FAYETTEVILLE Deputies say the two 71st High School students were arrested at around 11:30 a.m. Monday after an anonymous tip.

The drugs were discovered during a yearbook and art class at the school.

Police have charged 17-year-old Elyssa Sax with possession of Ecstasy and possession of a weapon on school campus. The also charged 18-year-old Kristin Suggs with possession of Ecstasy, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of a weapon on school campus.

Sax and Suggs were processed in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $5,000 secured bond. Both will make their first court appearance on Tuesday in the Detention Center Courtroom at 2:30 p.m.
