Edwards: Affair made me throw up

NEW YORK The book is scheduled to be published May 12. Edwards said her husband, former senator and presidential candidate John Edwards, admitted to cheating on her just days after announcing his run for president in 2006.

She said she wanted him to drop out of the race to protect the family from media scrutiny, but stood by his side anyway.

In August, the National Enquirer reported John Edwards was the father of his mistress's child. The woman, Rielle Hunter, was a videographer who John Edwards hired to produce videos for his campaign Website.

Elizabeth Edwards never identifies Hunter by name in he book, but she says that while her life may be tragic, Hunter's is "pathetic."

An advance copy of the book, "Resilience," was obtained by the New York Daily News.
