NEW YORK The book is scheduled to be published May 12. Edwards said her husband, former senator and presidential candidate John Edwards, admitted to cheating on her just days after announcing his run for president in 2006.

She said she wanted him to drop out of the race to protect the family from media scrutiny, but stood by his side anyway.
