Burglary call leads to pot farm

According to search warrants filed in Wake County, Raleigh police were chasing a suspected burglar when they found a whole lot more.Officers said they went to a home on Schaub Drive after getting a call about a break-in. When they got there, they say they spotted a man running from a rear basement door and arrested him after a short foot chase.

When they checked the house, they say they noticed a very strong smell of marijuana and spotted pot plants growing inside.

After getting a search warrant, they seized 13 pounds of pot and 62 plants. They also confiscated growing equipment.

The investigation continues.
