Jessica Bailey Wishnask, 27, is charged with indecent liberties with a child.
Officers discovered the two around 4:30 a.m. Saturday.
According to published reports, Wishnask resigned from her position as an English language arts teacher at Pactolus Elementary School in Greenville, NC Monday.
Prior to her teaching job in Greenville, she taught seventh grade at Williston Middle School in Wilmington. She resigned from that position in December.
A Wilmington television station reported Tuesday that the teen was a student of hers at Williston. Authorities said they are treating him as a victim.
Wishnask is out of jail on bond.
