The warrant states that, there is "probable cause to believe that on or about the date of offense … the defendant named unlawfully, willfully and feloniously did kidnap (victim's name redacted) a person who has not reached the age of 16 years, by unlawfully restraining her and removing her from one place to another without her consent or her parents' consent and for the purpose of sexually assaulting her."
Coffey is being held in the Wake County jail under a $500,000 bond.
Coffey is due in court on Monday at 9 a.m.
