Suspect takes 26 cartons of cigarettes

The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office is looking for a man who got away with 26 cartons of cigarettes stuffed down his pants.According to detectives, the man entered the Lake Lynn Short Stop at 3563 Gillespie Street on May 19 around 1:15 p.m.

While the store's manager was assisting customers, the suspect slipped into her office and stole more than $1,500 worth of cigarettes.

Surveillance video shows the suspect stuffing Newport brand cigarettes down a baggy pair of blue jeans he was wearing and walking out of the store. He left the scene in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as a black male in his mid to early 30s with a receding hairline. He is 5'6" and weighs approximately 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a tank top with a yellow shirt draped around his neck and shoulders.
