Durham woman killed in Mich. hit-and-run

Authorities confirm a Durham woman is among two people who were killed in a hit-and-run crash in Michigan Saturday. Mackinac County Sheriff Scott Strait said Wednesday 24-year-old Sara Dobbrastine of Kent City, Mich., and 31-year-old Julie Hatch of Durham was killed.

According to the Mining Journal of Marquette, three other people were injured when 28-year-old Dustan Lyle Bowen of Sanford, Mich. drove into a crowd of people walking along the side of a road.

Jonel Hoogterp of Durham remains in critical Condition.

Bowen faces charges including second-degree murder and failing to stop at the scene of an accident. He remains jailed on $1 million bond.
