Palmer dedicates NC State course

RALEIGH The 79-year-old golf legend helped design the 18-hole; par 71course at NC State's Centennial Campus. He was in town Friday to cut the ribbon and put on a golf clinic.

With the construction complete, the NC State men’s and women’s golf teams now have a home course on campus. The course will also host the Jimmy V Golf Classic the weekend of August 16.

While the course is part of NC State, the public can play. Greens fees are $49 on the weekdays and $75 on the weekends. There are cheaper rates for faculty and students. Members of the Wolfpack Club, the Alumni Association, the University Club and others also get discounts.
