A Davidson County high school has canceled its Friday football game because of fears that the 16 out of 30 varsity players who are home sick are suffering from the flu. The Dispatch of Lexington reported that Central Davidson football coach Mark Hoover said at least seven of his players have Swine Flu.

The school canceled its home game against North Davidson on Friday because of the players' illnesses.

Davidson County Schools spokeswoman Meredith Palmer says the district has no plans to close school.

The Swine Flu has also taken its toll on Triangle universities. Duke, NC Central, NC State and UNC have reported outbreaks on their campuses.

No outbreaks have been reported at any Triangle area high schools.
