Serial pistol-whipper on the loose

RALEIGH Authorities are investigating a series of assaults, but they don't have a very good description of the man they are looking for.

The latest incident happened Friday night, when someone attacked a man outside a home on Trawick Road at Piedmont Drive.

The victim, who was visiting from out-of-state, said he was standing outside of the home around 9:30 p.m. when he saw a man walking down the street.

He said the man turned around and hit him over the head with a flashlight and took his wallet.

Authorities told Eyewitness News that they are calling the attacks pistol-whippings and believe the same suspect attacked several people over the past few weeks.

One happened Thursday on Bonneville Court, while other incidents have taken place in the area of Brentwood and New Hope Church Road.

Few details about the other crimes have been released.
