North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Wayne Goodwin said Rodgers knowingly terminated his employee group health insurance without providing the required 45-day notice to his 337 employees.
Pace began flying in 1996, but the charter company has recently fallen on hard times. It announced last week it was temporarily ceasing operations.
Employees said they hadn't been paid in more than a month.
Goodwin said additional charges against Goodwin are pending.
There will be an informational meeting for Pace employees on Tuesday, Sept. 29 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Lawrence Joel Vets Coliseum (300 Deacon Blvd., Winston Salem). Employees can find more information at www.ncdoi.com.
Investigators arrested Rodgers at the Piedmont Triad International Airport Tuesday afternoon. He was taken to the Forsyth County Magistrate’s Office for processing.
