Plane makes emergency landing at RDU

RALEIGH Flight 164 was bound for Providence, Rhode Island from Orlando when airport officials say the Boeing 737 had to divert to RDU after an indicator light came on alerting of a possible problem.

An 'Alert 2' went out at RDU indicating a plane in the air with a major mechanical problem.

The plane landed without incident with crash rescue teams on standby. They followed the plane to the gate.

The plane was checked out on the ground to find the source of the problem.
