Woman charged with daughter's death

APEX According to arrest warrant documents obtained by ABC11, Nicole Lynnette Richards, 23, of Jacksonville is charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of her 3-month-old daughter Autumn Rose Naimi on October 11.

The warrants say the child died at an apartment at 2326 Reunion Meadows Lane.

Apex Police Chief Jack Lewis told ABC11 that Apex Police and EMS personnel went to the apartment at approximately 9:00 p.m. where Richards had been visiting a friend for several hours.

A 911 call had come from the residence reporting a child in respiratory distress. The child was transported to Wake Medical Trauma Center in Raleigh where she was pronounced dead.

Police did not say why Richards is charged with manslaughter and did not release the cause of death. They say the investigation continues.

Richards was taken to the Wake County Jail and held on a $250,000 bond.
