During the altercation, 16-year-old Jaylan O'Quinn McNair was stabbed in the back.
McNair was able to track down an officer at the fair to tell them he was hurt.
He was then taken to WakeMed with non-life threatening injuries and has since been released.
Authorities said the incident appeared to have been an isolated incident between teenagers who had a disagreement, but no arrests have been made.
The Wake County Sheriff's Department is currently investigating.
