Eggos remain out of reach

Eggo waffles are seen on display at Piazza's grocery store in Palo Alto, Calif., Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009. Nationwide shortages of Kellogg's popular brand of frozen waffles are expected through next summer because of a double whammy at waffle plants in the South _ flooding in Atlanta and mechanical problems in Tennessee. It could be a while before you see Eggos back in your grocer's freezer section.

An Eggo waffle shortage will continue for the next several months. A September flood contaminated the Kellogg plant in Atlanta.

Although the issues related to the flood have been resolved, officials say unexpected problems from the renovation of a Tennessee plant will cause continued shortages.

Half of all U.S. Eggos are made at the Tennessee plant.
