Two found dead after Chapel Hill blaze

CHAPEL HILL At approximately 9:59 p.m. the Chapel Hill Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire located at 1816 Legion Road.

According to officials, when crews arrived, they found a single-story duplex apartment heavily involved in fire. Four units from Chapel Hill, and one unit from Durham were utilized to bring the fire under control by 10:16 p.m.

Upon entry to each unit, firefighters discovered two victims. Both victims were deceased, according to Lisa Edwards, Public Information Officer for the Town of Chapel Hill.

Fire Investigators from the Chapel Hill Fire Department, Chapel Hill Police Department, and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation are investigating the cause.
