The shooting happened just before 1 a.m. at 1845 Boone Street.
Detectives said 17-year-old Derrie Stephen Smith and 25-year-old Quinton Maurice Hinton - both of Rocky Mount - were murdered in what may have been a robbery related to drug activity.
Marquette Levon Joyner, 25, has been charged with two counts of first degree murder in connection with the shootings.
Joyner is currently in jail under no bond.
