Serial bank robber strikes again

RALEIGH

Shortly after 9:30 a.m., a lone male suspect armed with a handgun entered the Wachovia bank at 2600 Hillsborough Street and demanded money.

Detectives told ABC11 that it appears to be the work of the same man who's robbed three other Triangle banks since November.

There's a reward of up to $15,000 for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.

The robberies occurred on the following dates and locations:

  • November 25 at the Suntrust Bank at 910 Kildaire Farm Road, Cary
  • December 29 and January 21 at the Wachovia Bank at 6623 Falls of Neuse Road, Raleigh
  • February 26 at the Suntrust located at 3620 Six Forks Road, Raleigh
  • March 31 at the Wachovia at 2600 Hillsborough Street, Raleigh

In each of the robberies, the suspect was described as a masked black male with a slender to medium build who stands about 5 feet 8-11 inches tall that has noticeably misshapen teeth and armed with a handgun In the holdup on Six Forks Road, the robber hit a teller with the barrel of his gun.
