The shooting happened Wednesday on Barrington Hills Drive in Garner. ABC11 Eyewitness News was on the scene when 44-year-old Glen Wallace was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
After he was shot, Wallace went to the home of a Raleigh police officer for help.
Authorities arrested 18-year-old Vonterio Best of Goldsboro Wednesday night and charged him with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
Investigators say they do not know what Best was doing in the Garner neighborhood.
