Deputies say Miles texted her mother, 44-year-old Sharon Gillian and her sister, 19-year-old Arterla Gilliam to alert them of the argument.
When the bus stopped near the 15-year-old student's home, both mother and sister were waiting for her and walked on to the school bus, despite the driver's warning not to do so.
Arterla Gilliam allegedly had a knife in her possession and attempted to assault the student with it, but was unsuccessful.
In the meantime, the 15-year-old student's mother, 36-year old Sunie Dean, was in enroute to the bus stop and became involved in her daughter's dispute.
All of the suspects fled the scene as Fayetteville Police responded to a call for help. They later were apprehended by police and members of the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office.
Miles and Sharon Gillian have been charged with assault and trespassing on a school bus. Artilla Gilliam has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a weapon on a school bus.
Dean and the 15-year-old student have been charged with resist delay and obstruct. All are currently being processed at the Cumberland County Detention Center.
