Incident causing extra security at graduation

JOHNSTON COUNTY Johnston County Sheriff's Department says it's unclear if it is just a prank, but school officials aren't taking any chances.

"There have been threats going on and there have been flyers," some students said.

Vandals have shattered glass on campus leaving behind a threatening letter tied to a brick, followed by flyers posted along I-40 at Highway 42 that reads, "Teal and white shall fall in red 11 of June forever dead" time stamped "6:6:06."

The school's principal has sent out a voicemail alert letting parents know that security will be tight at the school's Friday graduation. Metal detectors and extra officers will be on guard.

West Johnston High School has endured the loss of several students this school year.

"It's scary, because you don't know if the person is serious or not, but you always take threats seriously just in case," one student said.
