Eric Markeith Brown, 22, of 1114 Norwood Street, Fayetteville was arrested Monday.
According to detectives, Brown coerced his victim into a vehicle and would not allow her to leave. When the woman tried to get out of the car at a stoplight, Brown allegedly hit her in the face - splitting her lip. He then took her to a motel where he allegedly raped her.
Brown was being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
