Teen allegedly climbs inside ATM to steal money

BOSTON

Police say instead of inserting a card into a Bank of America machine, the teen cut a hole in the drywall above the machine, climbed into the back and was attempting to steal money. An alarm sounded alerting police.

Officers say when they arrived at the scene, they noticed some damage to the ATM but didn't realize what happened until they noticed a hole above the machine and heard noises behind the wall.

According to police, the teen needed money to pay off a drug debt.

He is charged with breaking and entering, malicious damage, larceny and possession of a class E drug.
